Q2 2024 Personal Finance Apps Performance on a Unified Platform

In the second quarter of 2024, the personal finance app landscape has seen varying performance trends across the top 5 budgeting and planning apps on a unified platform. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how these apps have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

YNAB experienced a fluctuating revenue stream, starting at $24M at the beginning of April and peaking at $36M by the end of May, with a dip to $19M mid-May. However, downloads and weekly active users remained relatively low, with no downloads for the first three weeks of April and only 20K active users reported at the beginning of June.

Budget Expense Tracker from Wallet showed an initial revenue of $17M, peaking at $30M in the second week of April, followed by another peak of $29M in the second week of June. Bankin’ saw its revenue stay within the $7M to $10M range, with no reported downloads or weekly active users data for the entire quarter.
